The antenna includes a transmitter (104) which includes a first transmit coil (106) wound in a first direction and a second transmit coil (108) electrically coupled to the first coil and wound in a second direction opposite to the first. The antenna has a core with a first end and an opposite end. The coil is positioned at the first end of the core and the second antenna is positioned at the opposite end of the core. Included is a further transmit coil positioned between the first and second receive coils. The transmit coil is positioned about the core between the two coils, and at a null point between the receive coils.
