PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing technology for a liquid crystal device wherein detection of an alignment mark is not disturbed by the liquid crystal. SOLUTION: When sealing materials are disposed on the surface of a main substrate, adding to usual disposal around each liquid crystal sealing region, a sealing material 37 is disposed also on an alignment mark 36 so as to entirely cover the alignment mark 36 in a closely adhered state. Two main substrates are stuck so that the alignment mark 36 is coated with the sealing material 37 in a completely adhered state and a gap between the two main substrates is entirely filled with the sealing material 37 in a region where the alignment mark 36 is formed.
