PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which performs peaking processing in a manual focus mode. SOLUTION: Image signals, which are photographed by a CCD undergo the analog processing at an image processing part, are converted into digital signals by an A/D converter and undergo image processing via a digital signal processor. The processed image data are stored in a frame memory 435. When the operation mode is switched to a manual focus mode by a CAF/SAF/MF changeover switch, a CPU 439 is set in a peaking processing mode. A peaking processing circuit 460 reads a luminance signal Y stored in Y signal memroy 435a of the memory 435. The signal Y is differentiated by a differentiating circuit 460a, and the differentiated signal is amplified by an amplifier circuit 460b and added to the original signal Y by an addition circuit 460c. An added luminance signal Y' is outputted to a display LCD 420 via a switch 460d, and the outline of the image signals is displayed with emplasis. |
