PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by enhancing the performance of an absorber. SOLUTION: The absorption refrigerating machine comprises an evaporator 6 and an absorber 7 each having a plurality of isolated space sections in the vertical direction, and a low temperature shell 8 juxtaposed such that the vapor of refrigerant evaporated at each space section of the evaporator 6 can flow into each space section of the absorber 7 wherein water from a cold water pipe 20 flows sequentially through the space sections 6a, 6b and 6c, pumped up through a refrigerant pump 19 and sprayed sequentially onto heating tubes 20c, 20b and 20a thus cooling the absorbing liquid through evaporation of the refrigerant liquid. Heating tubes 21a, 21b and 11c and corresponding spray units 13a, 13b and 13c are also disposed in the space sections 7a, 7b and 7c of the absorber 7 and an absorbing liquid pipe 11 is piped such that cooling water from a cooling water pipe 21 flows sequentially through the heating tubes 21a, 21b and absorbing liquid delivered from the space section 7a flows into a high temperature regenerator through the heating tube 11c, and the like. Concentrated absorbing liquid supplied from a low temperature regenerator 3 is sprayed sequentially onto the heating tubes 11c, 21b and 21a.
