PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a rotation about a shaft by demodulating and adding an induction signal from a signal source at each angular position of a coupler, generating a substantially sine waveform having a phase varying proportionally to a rotation of the coupler, and detecting the phase. SOLUTION: A signal source 17 induction-connects to a receiving disk 14, a signal Fc is transmitted to a coil of a transmitting disk 13 damping with a rotation coupler, a signal 31 is inputted to a digital mixer comprising six receiving coils and a waveform generating device 16, and a set signal is transmitted to an RSFF with an output 32. A coupler disk 12 generates six individual signals at any position of the coupler, six signals from the mixer are added with an amplifier A1 and is inputted to a lower-region filter/limiting amplifier A2. This output is converted into a rectangular wave with a comparator A3, and R input of the RSFF is driven. The RSFF circuit output is a pulse width modulation output, the pulse width is accurately proportional to a rotation angle over 0-360 deg. of a shaft, and an analogue voltage is outputted through an active lower-region filter A4.
