Procedure for complete recovery of iron (III) uses (2-ethyl hexyl) methyl amino phosphonic acid from aqueous media of high acidity

Iron (III) is completely recovered from aqueous media of high acidity using (2-ethyl hexyl) methyl amino phosphonic acid with the application of liquid-liquid extraction technology. The procedure consists of continuous contact in counterflow of the extractant charged with iron coming from a conventional extractor-separator with sulfuric acid in a re-extractor with one, two or more stages. The process occurs in inert atmosphere in the presence of carbon steel filings.
