SUBSCRIBER LINE TERMINATOR AND ITS MANAGEMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subscriber line terminator that can write information required by a manager to a storage means and from which the information can be remotely read and used externally. SOLUTION: The subscriber line terminator 1 is provided with a storage means 104 to which specific information is written and from which the information is read, a transmission means 106 that multiplexes the information read from the storage means 104 onto an incoming transmission frame and transmits the resulting frame to a station side unit, and a subscriber line termination control section 105 that reads an instruction bit multiplexed onto an outgoing transmission frame sent from the station side unit and controls reading of the information written in the storage means 104 according to the instruction. In the communication between the station side unit and the subscriber line terminator, the information written in the storage means 104 of the subscriber line terminator 1 is read according to the instruction of the instruction bit sent from the station side unit and transmitted to the station side unit. Thus, the external station side unit can grasp the information in the subscriber line terminator 1.
