PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the shape of an electrode pattern by preventing a lead part from being broken or thinning down in forming an electrode. SOLUTION: According to this electrode forming method, screen printing is used in a patterning process of the electrode which is made up of a display part A existing in an image displaying area, a terminal part B existing out of the image displaying area and connected to a connector, and the lead part C for connecting the part A to the part B. Not only the parts A, B but the part C are screen-printed by using a screen plate having the electrode pattern with no portions parallel to or near-parallel to mesh-forming wires m. Paste clogging is decreased in the proximity of outlines of the electrode pattern, thereby decreasing defects such as wire breakage or wire thinning, and the electrode can obtain the lead part improved in edge linearity.
