PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal polaron magnetic body which is ferromagnetic while kept in a liquid crystal state by a method wherein a polymer where a spin generating part possessed of a liquid crystal substituent group and a ferromagnetic coupler are linked together is synthesized, and then the polymer is doped with iodine. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal polaron magnetic body is manufactured through such a manner where a polymer where a spin generating part possessed of a liquid crystal substituent group and a ferromagnetic coupler are linked together are synthesized, melted, cooled down and transformed into glass while kept liquid crystal domains, and the glassy polymer is doped with iodine. At this point, a synthesizing method of liquid crystal group, a method of introducing a liquid crystal substituent group to a spin generating part, and a method of polymerizing the spin generating part and the ferromagnetic coupler together can be all carried out through usual organic synthesizing methods. Polymerization is carried through a Stille reaction or a Heck reaction. A phenylenevinylene derivative serves as a spin generating part possessed of a liquid crystal substituent group. Methaphenylene is used as a ferromagnetic coupler. |
