PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a track jump control device and its method for an optical disk drive. SOLUTION: A track jump control device for jumping a light spot of an optical disk drive from an arbitrary one track to the other track starts operation responding to a track jump instruction from the outside, and generates and outputs the prescribed light spot position command data specifying a position of a light spot for the prescribed each sampling period, and comprises a light spot position command generating section 302 generating and outputting switching control polarity data for controlling switching, an adder section 304a subtracting track error data from light spot position command data, and a switching section 304b transmitting light spot position command data as it is or reversing its polarity responding to switching control polarity data.
