PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use the space on the back face side of a liquid crystal panel as a housing space for a power supply. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display element equipped with a back light 4, and has a polymer battery 2 attached to the back face side of the back light. Preferably, the polymer battery 2 is attachable and detachable. Since the polymer battery 2 is free from liquid leaking of the electrolytic liquid, a laminated film or the like can be used for the outer package so that the degree of freedom of a shape is high. Moreover, the battery can be made thin. By assembling the battery into the liquid crystal display device, the capacity of the cell is significantly increased while the outer dimension of the device is hardly increased.
