PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide photosensitive material capable of forming an image by a general-purpose current color negative developing system, excellent in processing stability and suitable for rapid processing by forming a specified filter layer and a photosensitive layer containing couplers each forming a dye by reaction with the oxidized body of a developing agent and a silver halide emulsion. SOLUTION: The silver halide photosensitive material has a mosaic or striped filter layer having plural regions different from each other in spectral sensitivity characteristics and a photosensitive layer containing couplers each forming a dye by reaction with the oxidized body of a developing agent and a silver halide emulsion on the substrate. The couplers are at least one yellow coupler, at least one magenta coupler and at least one cyan coupler. The photosensitive layer contains the color developing agent which is at least one of compounds of formulae I, II, etc. In the formulae, R1-R4 are each H, halogen, alkyl or the like, R5 is alkyl, aryl or a heterocyclic group and Z is a group of atoms forming an aromatic ring.
