JEWELRY SUSPENSION HARNESS

The present invention provides a jewelry suspension harness that includes a piece of jewelry or stone having opposed front and back surfaces integral wi th a cop edge and opposed side edges wherein the top edge has a top notch at about a midpoint between the side edges and the side edges have side notches substantially apposite one another. A suspension wire having opposed ends is provided with a loop that is nestled within the top notch wherein the suspension wire is placed adjacent the front and back surfaces and provided in a substantially paralle l relationship with the side edges and wherein the suspension wise is coupled to the side notches to carry the stone. In one embodiment, a tie wire is wrapped around the suspension wire and the stone for coupling to the stone. The tie wire is received in the side notches and secured to the stone by a tie twist that is position ed substantially perpendicular to the suspension wire and wherein the suspensio n wire is further secured to the tie wire by suspension knots on both the front and back surfaces. In another embodiment, the suspension wire is secured to the stone by lacing the wire through the side notches and through a hole extending throug h the front and back surfaces of the piece of jewelry. In particular, the suspensi on wire is provided with a series of twists and wrapped about the stone. In still another embodiment, the ends of the suspension wire are connected to one another to form a band which is then threaded through the hole and around the notches.
