PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a microcomputer to quickly operate during break even when the break is generated in a low power consumption mode, and to exactly operate in the original low power consumption mode at the time of resuming a user program after the end of the break with respect to the emulator of a microcomputer having low power consumption. SOLUTION: This emulator is provided with a setting means 52 which sets the frequencies of a clock signal and a state holding means 60 which holds information related with the frequencies of a clock generated by a clock control circuit 50 in a real time. When any break is generated during the emulation operation of a microcomputer according to a clock signal with low frequencies, a clock signal with high frequencies is generated by the clock control circuit during the break so that the microcomputer can be quickly operated, and after the end of the break processing, the contents of the state holding means are set in the setting means so that the frequencies of the clock signal can be restored, and the emulation operation can be resumed. |
