PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a size (diameter) of a spot containing a detecting substance such as a living body high polymer, etc., to realize a micro-array in which the spot is disposed high densely by a method wherein a plurality of spots containing the detecting substance are disposed in a porous membrane provided with a through hole mutually independently. SOLUTION: A porous membrane 2 to be utilized for a micro-array 1 is a porous film in which a void in a hole is not continuously linked, and which has a through hole mutually independently. As such the porous film, for example, a high polymer composed of a polycarbonate, etc., in which the mutually independently through holes are formed innumerably is preferable. When a material containing the detecting substance is dropped down on a surface of the membrane 2, a sample partially infiltrates into the through hole, while a diffusion to a lateral direction in a membrane front layer is restricted. This is because the sample does not infiltrate to a lateral direction of membrane along the void in the interior of the holes as in the case of a mesh structure. It is preferable that the porous membrane 2 has a mean hole diameter of 0.1μm to 10μm.
