PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a simple time rain gage apparatus which measures the amount of precipitation by shortening its measuring time. SOLUTION: A liquid measure-shaped container 1 whose upper face is opened is installed outdoors in a rainfall. After a set measuring time, the container 1 is taken up. While the container 1 is being tilted, the total amount of rainwater which is stored in the container is guided to a rainwater collecting chamber 5 which is formed on one side of the container. In this simple time rain gage apparatus, after the total amount is guided, the container is rearranged in such a way that the rainwater collecting chamber 5 becomes vertical, and the time amount of precipitation is read out on the basis of the level 9 and the time-converted precipitation graduation 6 of the rainwater collecting chamber 5.
