PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dry process analysis method and a dry analysis element for easily, rapidly, and accurately analyzing a substance to be inspected by the competitive combination reaction among the substance to be inspected such as an antigen, an immobilization substance to be inspected, and a labeled specific combination substance such as an antibody for the antigen. SOLUTION: A labeled substance retention layer 6 containing a labeled specific combination substance in advance is provided on a detection layer 14 containing an immobilization substance to be inspected. A water absorption layer 12 is arranged under the detection layer 14. Simply by spotting a liquid sample containing the substance to be inspected, the competitive combination reaction between the substance to be inspected, the immobilization substance to be inspected, and the labeled specific combination substance is allowed to progress in the detection layer 14. Since the labeled specific combination substance that did not combine with the immobilization substance to be inspected of the detection layer 14 is moved and eliminated by the water absorption layer due to the diffusion and move of liquid in an analysis element, an operation such as washing is not required. The amount of complex between the immobilization substance to be inspected and the labeled specific combination substance formed on the detection layer 14 can be easily measured according to the absorption of a labeled pigmentation particle. Correspondence to compact measuring equipment can be facilitated due to analysis by the dry process analysis element.
