摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alignment layer which aligns liquid crystal molecules with a high pretilt, has affinity with the liquid crystal molecules and does not repel the liquid crystal molecules by coating the upper side of the particulates layer with an organic alignment layer agent having a low pretilt property and forming a roughened surface originating from projecting and recessing parts on the particulates layer surface made of the particulates on the organic alignment layer agent surface. SOLUTION: An alignment layer 1 is formed on a particulates layer 3 and a roughened surface originating from projecting and recessing parts on the particulates layer 3 surface made of the particulates 4 is formed on the surface of the alignment layer 1. Besides the individual particulates 4 in the particulates layer 3 are mutually combined and tightly adhered to a substrate 2 via a binder resin 5. As preferable particulates, inorganic particulates such as silica, alumina, titan, zirconia, titanium oxide and ITO and organic particulates such as polymethyl methacrylate, polystyrene, silicone resin are mentioned. Above all, silica particulates are preferable. The size of particulates is preferably 5-100 nm and more preferably 10-50 nm.
