PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect stains by a substance by outputting the transmittance or reflectance that changes due to the chemical reaction between the substance for composing stains and a component for detecting stains, or penetration through a signal-processing circuit. SOLUTION: The transmittance of a region 1 for detecting stains is changed by the chemical reaction due to contact between the region 1 for detecting stains in the shape of an optical fiber being pigmented by the change in pH and a substance 2 for composing stains, and the quantity of light being supplied from a light source 3 changes from I0 to I1, thus detecting stains and outputting stain signal through a signal-processing circuit 4. A part that can be stained can be covered with a sensor for a wide range, thus automating the detection of stains. Therefore, when the sensor is to be used for detecting the stains of a diaper, the diaper can be replaced by a new one at appropriate timing when the diaper is stained. Also, the diaper can be replaced by a new one as needed, thus reducing the load on the human being. Also, the sensor part can be composed by only light without any electricity. |
