摘要 |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-stabilized superconducting cable enhanced in electrical reliability by reducing coupling losses of the superconducting cable used in a varying magnetic field. SOLUTION: This superconducting cable 6 has compound superconducting element wires 3 each made by disposing a multiplicity of metallic superconducting filaments 1 made of Nb-Ti in a metallic matrix 2 of copper or the like having good conductivity. The plurality of element wires 3 are prepared according to the capacity of the cable 6 and twisted around a loss reducing material 4A to form a twist group. The twist group of the element wires 3 is covered with an aluminum stabilizer 5 by extrusion or the like. By disposing the plurality of element wires 3 so as to form the twist group around the material 4A of Nb-Ti having resistance higher than the stabilizer 5, coupling losses between the element wires 3 of the cable is reduced and thus the cable is suitable for use in a varying magnetic field.
