PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the possibility of causing wrong operation because the test of a key telephone set requires much labor and time and at times may need manual operation, visual confirmation and audible confirmation or the like at the same time. SOLUTION: A test device 1 is provided with a script storage section 2, that stores a message denoting contents of a test and its procedure and a message processing section 3, that reads this message and conducts processing according to the message. The test device transmits a command to a bus 30 at a side of a key telephone master set 20 connected to telephone sets 25, 26 and receives its reply to test the master set 20. By having only to read and execute the script, one can realize unattended the testing of the key telephone set which was conventionally conducted manually. As a result, the test can be realized efficiently and accurately.
