PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase volume while suppressing an incidence of inner short circuit by adding flaky filler to reinforcement material in an electrochemical device provided with a pair of electrodes and a separator inserted between the electrodes and containing nonaqueous a electrolyte and polymer and the reinforcing material for holding the nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: Flaky filler added to a reinforcing material is preferably composed of non-swelling mica. An average thickness of the flaky filler is preferably in a range of 0.1-3 μm, more preferably in a range of 0.2-2 μm. An average maximum length of the flaky filler in surface direction is preferably in a range of 5-120 μm, more preferably in a range of 5-50 μm. The average minimum length of the flaky filler in the surface direction is preferably in a range of 3-100 μm, more preferably in a range of 3-30 μm. An average particle size (cumulative 50% particle size D50 in particle size distribution measured by laser scattering method) of the flaky filler is preferably half the thickness of the separator or smaller. |
