DIGITAL EXCHANGE AND COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital exchange that can conduct proper processing without the need for a cost for fault countermeasure even in the case that an exchange corresponding to an external network has divided configurations and to provide a communication control method. SOLUTION: Even when the digital exchange 10 has two divided configurations IP-PBX 10A and IP-PBX 10B, idle pins of LAN interface sections 24A, 24B are effectively utilized to be connected not only to a usual transmission line but also a transmission line used on the occurrence of a fault and/or a power failure. A LAN cable 26 ensures a direct route and a connection changeover section 20A supplies a relay drive signal to a connection changeover section 20B under the control of a control section 18 for the connection changeover corresponding to the occurrence of a fault or a power failure to properly select the transmission line thereby ensuring the direct route.
