PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating roller device of a simple structure with reduced heat losses due to the transfer of heat to the surroundings and a high heat efficiency, capable of controlling an axial distribution of heating values, reduced in the driving torque of a roller, and preventing paper from clinging to the roller or offsetting. SOLUTION: This heating roller device has arranged therein a long heating means extending axially into the cylinder of a heating roller 4 and having a support member 25 disposed at the end of the heating roller 4, having a first cylindrical surface 91 fitting over and pivotally locking the heating roller 4 and a second cylindrical surface 92 rotating and sliding while having a diameter not greater than the diameter of the first cylindrical surface, the heating means accommodates a plurality of heating elements 30 each constructed of portions differing in heating values in its axial direction. At least two of the heating elements are designed to be capable of independently carrying currents and being independently controlled. The support member has conductivity.
