The optical reader has a slot that accepts a card (FC) which has a grid (GC) marked to represent a telephone number. The reader has the electronic module (100) made as two integrated circuits (110,120) parallel to each other and joined by electrical connection pins (130,140). These pins form a guide to ensure correct positioning of the card in front of the optical detection devices (112,122). An Independent claim is also included for the system for automatically dialing a phone number.
