PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated fiber selection device which is low in connection loss at the selection of coated fibers and is good in reproducibility. SOLUTION: This coated optical fiber selection device includes a V-groove substrate which is provided with a multiplicity of V-grooves, a plurality of stationary optical fibers 1 which are cut at their front ends and are arrayed and fixed in the V-grooves, at least one moving optical fiber 2 which is butted and connected to the stationary optical fibers 1, a moving optical fiber holding member which holds the moving optical fiber 2, is movable in parallel to the arraying direction of the V-grooves and are capable of housing, and detaching the moving optical fiber 2 into and from the V-grooves and an optical fiber retainer 4 which retains the stationary optical fibers 1 and the moving optical fiber 2 in butt connecting parts. The optical fiber retainer 4 retains only the moving optical fiber 2 via an elastic body 6. |
