PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic head magnetically stabler and simple in manufacturing procase, reduced in leakage magnetic field from a magnetic shield layer provided with a laminated structure of a ferromagnetic layer and an anti- ferromagnetic layer to a magnetoresistance effect layer. SOLUTION: This magnetic head is provided with a magnetic shielding layer 7 formed by laminating plural antiferromagnetic layers 71 and ferromagnetic layers and a magnetoresistance effect layer and executes recording of information to a magnetic recording medium and reproducing of information from the magnetic recording medium. At least one separating layer 73 for suppressing exchange interaction to the ferromagnetic layer 70 by the antiferromagnetic layers 71 is formed in the magnetic shielding layer 7.
