PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum equipment operation aiding method and device capable of efficiently aiding the optimum operation of equipment and promoting power saving and automation for the optimum equipment operation. SOLUTION: The method generates a network characteristic matrix from network information obtained from the connection information of a network 10e, generates a balance expression expressing an external output by the function of an operation variable of each equipment and a cost expression expressed by the function of the operation variable of each equipment on the basis of the characteristic value of equipment 10d and the network characteristic matrix, sets the predicted value of an external output required for an installation 10 consisting of plural pieces of equipment, and determines the operation variable of each equipment minimizing or maximizing the value of the cost expression on the basis of the balance expression, the cost expression and the predicted value of the external output.
