PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrostatic recording material having an effect of cleaning an electrostatic recording head, preventing untransfer of dots even when frequent cleaning is not carried out and capable of giving a good image. SOLUTION: A pigment-containing dielectric layer is disposed on an electrically conductive substrate to obtain the objective electrostatic recording material. Two pigments different from each other in particles diameter are contained as the pigment. An oxide mixture of silica and alumina is used as the finer one of the pigments. This oxide mixture has a hard surface, a more excellent cleaning effect than silica and much better dispersibility than alumina and is easily dispersed in the dielectric layer.
