PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of easily fixing a guiding member, and which is easily manufactured at a low cost by providing a holding means for holding the guiding member while fitting both sides of the guiding member in the means, a 1st engagement part positioned at the nearly longitudinal center of the guiding member, and a 2nd engagement part which is installed inside the device and engaged with the 1st engagement part so as to position the guiding member. SOLUTION: The end parts of a guide shaft 3 are held by a frame 11, and the hole 3a of the guiding member is fitted to a boss integrally projecting from the base plate of the frame 11. Both ends of the guide shaft 3 are held by bearing parts 11a and 11b functioning as the fitting parts of the frame 11. The recessed hole 3a is formed in the central part of the guide shaft 3, then, by inserting the projecting boss 11e of the frame 11 into the hole 3a, the guide shaft is positioned. A motor 5 as a driving source for moving a reading unit 1 along the guide shaft 3 is arranged in a holder. A transmission mechanism for transmitting a driving force from the motor 5 to the reading unit 1 is housed in the frame 11.
