PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile equipment that can properly respond to an incoming call, even when the incoming call comes from a caller aiming at making speech in the state of automatic reception mode. SOLUTION: This facsimile equipment is provided with a communication result storage section 8, that stores at least a caller telephone number in ID information after reception of facsimile signals. Upon the receipt of caller ID information from a caller side, a caller telephone number detection section detects a caller (caller side) telephone number and a main control section 2 compares and collates the detected caller side telephone number with caller side telephone, numbers that are stored in the communication result storage section 8 and to which the facsimile equipment has conducted facsimile communication in the fast. When the result of collation indicates that there exist matching caller side telephone number, the facsimile equipment transits to an automatic reception mode. However, when no matching caller telephone number exists, the facsimile equipment causes a speech section 12 to ring for a preset time or a preset number of times.
