PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To amplify a received signal to a required gain and to suppress deterioration in the signal in a communication unit, that amplifies the signal received from a communication line. SOLUTION: In this communication unit 4 that employs built-in amplifiers 43, 44 to amplify a received signal, when an amplifier 32 in a booster 3 amplifies the signal received by an antenna 2 and the amplified signal is given to a common use circuit 41 of the communication unit 4, the connection state by bypass switches 42a, 42b is switched to deliver the received signal via a bypass line 42c so as to allow only the amplifier 44 to amplify the signal. Furthermore, when the signal received from the antenna 2 is given directly to the common use circuit 41, the bypass switches 42a, 42b are switched to allow the amplifiers 43, 44 to amplify the signal.
