PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a change of a color tone and a change of dot gain in image formation by the continuous exposure of a photosensitive material by exposing a silver halide photosensitive material containing a silver halide emulsion layer and a coloring material on the substrate with light within the range of (theλmax of the coloring material)±10 nm. SOLUTION: A silver halide photosensitive material containing at least one silver halide emulsion layer and at least one coloring material on the substrate is exposed with light within the range of (theλmax of the coloring material)±10 nm. The difference between theλmax of the coloring material and the spectral maximum wavelength of the silver halide emulsion is >10 nm. The spectral maximum wavelength of the silver halide emulsion is longer than 720 nm and longer than theλmax of the coloring material.
