PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a signal generator having a small memory capacity of a data ROM and easy to control an address. SOLUTION: The signal generator stores digital data A-D converted from an analog signal sampled by a sampling pulse of a sampling frequency of 96 kHz having sampling frequencies of 32 and 48 kHz as divisors in a data ROM 1, obtains an accumulated value obtained by accumulating added values based on a ratio of 96 to 32 kHz of the frequencies or a ratio of 96 to 48 kHz and a frequency of an output signal by a CPU 3, obtains a sum of the accumulated value and a reading starting address, reads the sum, designates the address of the ROM 1 as the reading address, converts the digital data read from the ROM 1 into a predetermined digital format, and sends the data to a material to be tested.
