PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atomic absorption measurement method for easily setting a heating program. SOLUTION: In the atomic absorption measurement method that is made by a light source part, a sample-heating part for atomizing a sample due to heating, after the sample is injected, a detection part for detecting light from the light source part via the sample-heating part, an operation part for processing a signal which is detected by the detection part and controlling the heating of the sample-heating part, and a display part that is used for displaying the measurement result and for the operation of a measuring personnel, an arbitrary pattern is selected from among a plurality of detection signal patterns stored in advance, a sample is injected to the sample-heating part, the sample-heating part is heated and controlled so that the selected pattern can be detected, the sample is injected into the sample-heating part, and the heating control is re-executed. Also, the setting of the heating program can be automated for all types of samples.
