PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a vibration generator and make it portable. SOLUTION: This generator comprises a substrate 12 mounted on a base via a buffer member 16, a first stage 13 that is supported by an upper side face of the substrate 12 and reciprocates in the horizontal directions, a second stage 14 that is supported by an upper side face of the first stage 13 and reciprocates in the vertical direction and therewith supports a measured object, a hydraulic cylinder 19 which is fixed on the substrate 12 and therewith linked to the first stage 13, vibrating the first stage 13, a hydraulic cylinder 27 which is contained in each stage 13, 14 and therewith fixed to the first stage 13 to be linked to the second stage 14, vibrating the second stage 14 in the vertical direction.
