PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously realize, at a high level, reduction in the number of parts and high density mounting by structuring the device with an optical component unit and a receptacle unit which is provided with a plurality of surface mountable leads fixedly installed on a receptacle and which is formed separately from the optical component unit. SOLUTION: The device is constituted of the optical component unit 1 and the receptacle unit 2 which is equipped with the receptacle 9 for holding the optical cable 3 so as to secure an optical connection to a ferrule 8, and the plural surface mountable leads 10 fixedly installed on this receptacle 9, and which is formed as a separate unit from the optical component unit 1. Consequently, it is possible that density is increased for mounting parts on a base board by using the surface mountable leads 7, 10, that the device is simultaneously mounted on the base board 5 with other parts automatically in reflow, and, moreover, that the number of parts is reduced by directly connecting to and using a standard plug 3b attached to the optical cable 3. |
