An indoor unit for a separate type air conditioner, capable of preventing deformation and breakage of respective parts when a grill is separated from a front panel. The indoor unit of a separate type air conditioner having a front panel, and a grill coupled with the entire front side of the front panel includes a hinge shaft and supporting portion formed on both upper sides of the grill, respectively, a pair of guide members formed on both upper sides of the front panel corresponding to the hinge shaft and the supporting portion, the pair of guide members between which the hinge shaft is movably inserted; and a stopper formed on both upper sides of the front panel corresponding to the hinge shaft and the supporting portion, for restricting the movement of the hinge shaft by making contact with the supporting portion. |
