摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device capable of inexpensively providing a liquid crystal display device with a microlens. SOLUTION: Projecting and recessing parts are formed on the surface of one substrate 1 of two substrates 1 and 2. The substrates 1 and 2 are laminated by interposing a thermoplastic resin film 3 or a thermoplastic resin film 4 between a projecting and recessing surface 1b of the substrate 1 having the projecting and recessing parts formed and the substrate 2. Then the laminated body is pressed and heated to fill the recessing parts of the projecting and recessing parts with the thermoplastic resin film or film. Then the thickness of the substrate 2 on which the projecting and recessing parts are not formed is made thin up to a thickness about equal to the focal distance to be adopted as a microlens substrate 11. The microlens substrate 11 is laminated on a substrate 7 through a sealing member 12 to manufacture this liquid crystal display device.
