PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacture cost of a pivot assembly by simplifying the sealing structure for a roller bearing. SOLUTION: A pivot assembly 20 swingably supports an actuator block 2. The actuator block supports a head suspension to which a magnetic head is mounted. The pivot assembly is provided with a shaft 4 set to an oscillation center C2 of the actuator block 2 and a sleeve 7 fitted to the shaft 4 via a pair of roller bearings 21 and 22. Open bearings are used as roller bearings 21 and 22. A sealing plate 26 is fitted to the upper end part of the shaft 4, which forms a slight gap δ to the end face of the open bearing 21 of one end side. An escape part 27 is set to a flange 4a of the shaft 4 supporting the roller bearing 22 of the other end side, which forms a slight gap δ to an end face of the bearing 22. Open ends of the open bearings 21 and 22 are sealed by the sealing plate 26 and the flange 4a. |
