<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the usability of an information display unit for a vehicle by automatically changing over the display mode of the display unit into a specific information display mode having a high using frequency from a display mode in which information is displayed in accordance with the calling by a passenger, after a predetermined time elapses in the case that vehicle condition is to be displayed on the display section of the display unit. CONSTITUTION:An information display device 5 is provided in its center part with a display section 12, and on both sides of the latter with push buttons 13, 14. A time indication 30 is normally made on the display section 12, and the content of display is changed into a periodic inspection time indication 31, oil change time indication 32, an oil level indication 33, a coolant level indication 34 and a washer liquid level indication 35, successively, each time when the system check push-button 14 is depressed. Further, during one of these indications 31 through 35, when the trip function push-button 13 is depressed, the time indication 30 is performed, and then by successively depress ing push-button 13, a tripable distance/fuel remaining amount indication 36, a trip/time indication 37, an instant fuel consumption indication 38 and an aver aged fuel consumption indication 39 are successively performed.</p> |
