摘要

An engine, wherein supporting arms (712, 713) extending to the radial outer side beyond the outer periphery of a flywheel (78) installed on a crankshaft (15) having one end supported on a cover member (71) is formed integrally wi th the cover member (71) closing an opening of an engine block (11), and a reco il starter (18) positioned on the axial outer side of the flywheel (78) is supported on the supporting arms (712, 713), whereby the recoil starter (18) can be supported easily and surely while preventing an interference with the flywheel (78) without providing any special mounting bracket or stay, and th e coaxial alignment of the recoil starter (18) with the crankshaft (15) can be assured.
