INJECTION MOLDING DEVICE

A device (1) for injection moulding a plastic object. The device comprises a frame (2) with a first platen (3) and a second platen (4). One or both platens have displacement means (7) which enable the platens to be displaced towards one another, in a closure direction, from an open position and to be moved into a closed position, in which the first and second mould halves (5, 6) bear against one another. Furthermore, there are means (11-14, 22-24) for creating a closure force, by means of which the mould halves (5, 6) can be pressed together in the closed position of the platens and means (10) for injecting plastics material into the mould under pressure. The means for creating the closure force comprise one or more closure clamps (11-14) which can each be displaced substantially transversely with respect to the closure direction of the platens (3, 4).
