摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To promote the improvement of return stability with no hand in a steering system, by providing means, which detect steering torque to be in a predetermined value or less and a steering rotary speed to be in a predetermined value or more, and applying a brake to an electric motor on the basis of signals from said detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A steering system detects its steering torque by a steering torque detecting means 41 and the rotary speed by a steering rotation detecting means 42. On the basis of signals from said both detecting means 41, 42, if the steering torque is detected to be in a predetermined value or less further with the steering rotary speed in a predetermined value or more, a zero torque overspeed detecting means 45, which decides the steering system to be placed in a returning condition with no hand, outputs a brake signal to an electric motor braking means 46. In this way, an electric motor 10 applies a self brake. Accordingly, the steering system in the time of return steering with no hand can be reset to the neutral position in a short time.</p>
