<p>A holding member for an information storage disk, which is a member for holding an information storage disk in place in an information storage disk drive device, and which consists of glass ceramics having a crystal phase dispersed in a glass matrix, wherein a specific rigidity (Young's modulus/specific gravity) is at least 37 GPa, a specific gravity up to 3.0, a coefficient of thermal expansion at -50 to 70-C 35x10-7 to 130x10-7/-C, Young's modulus 95 GPa to 130 GPa, a specific gravity 2.40 to 2.60, and a bending strength 400 MPa to 800 MPa. The holding member for an information storage disk having a faster-rotation following-up feature for accommodating a higher information transferring speed, a higher mechanical strength capability for a mobile-use, and thermal expansion characteristics matching other drive component part materials, and being free from defects due to alkali elution; and an information storage disk drive device using this holding member.</p> |
