The wall component comprises a U-shaped support function component with a beam part (11) and support parts together with an aperture. It can be installed at connecting points in connection with supporting outer walls (17) and dividing walls of a building. The wall component is connected with existing structural components, to which the added structure, such as a lift installation, is fitted on the front side via cross ribs to the wall component. The wall component between two intermediate supports and two stairway dividing walls (16) can be installed in the front area of a building. Connection from wall component to wall component is formed as grooves in the upper support surface of the beam part and tongues in the support surface of the support parts.
