The invention relates to a sealing strip (23) for sealing a lateral window (41) that can be lifted and lowered with respect to the roof frame of a convertible. Said sealing strip is provided with an elastomer profiled stran d that is coextruded with a metallic reinforcement (25). The sealing strip (23 ) has a three-dimensional structure and is secured to connecting elements (10) of the roof frame. A holding section (24) of a U-shaped cross-section is par t of the elastomer profiled strand and contains, embedded therein, the reinforcement (25) which also has a U-shaped cross-section. A sealing sectio n (31) is laterally formed on a first leg of the holding section (24) and form s an integral part thereof. Said holding section can be placed on a clip-on flange (12) in a self-supporting and sealing manner. A first base (30) forme d integrally on the first leg is provided with a longitudinal groove (29) on a first longitudinal edge (36) that is adjacent to the free longitudinal edge of the first leg, the dimensionally stable edge flange (47) of the roof of the convertible engaging in said groove.
