TRANSPORTER GENES OATP-B, C, D AND E

Four novel transporter genes are successfully cloned by screening novel transporter genes on the basis of human OATP transporter gene sequence. These transporters are useful in developing drugs by taking advantage of the activity of transporting biological substances and various drugs. It is also found out that these transporter genes have single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP). Gene diagnosis based on the polymorphisms (SNP, etc.) in these transporter genes makes it possible to judge, for example, the efficacy of a drug therapy.
