The base includes an upper base cover which is formed as one piece with a lower section of the monitor. A lower base cover is connected to the upper base cover and includes a joint receiving opening in its centre. An inclination adjustment mechanism is connected to the upper base cover and arranged in the joint receiving opening to allow up and downward tilting of the monitor by applying a force to the monitor. A swivel mechanism is provided for turning the monitor, the upper base cover and the lower base cover left or right.
