The invention relates to an electronic engraving machine for engraving pressure cylinders. The engraving machine is provided with a device (13) for transferring current. Service and control currents are transferred from a current source (15) to the engraving supports (12) by means of said device (13). The engraving supports are displaceably arranged on a moveable engraving carriage (5) of the engraving machine. The displaceable engraving supports (12) carry engraving mechanisms (10). Conductor bars (13a) which extend in parallel to each other, in the moving direction of the engraving supports (12) and at least over the moving area of the engraving supports (12) on the engraving carriage (5) are arranged on the engraving carriage (5). The conductor rails (13a) are connected to the stationary current source (15) by means of a flexible cable (14). Each engraving support (12) carries a current collector (13b). The current collectors (13b) are provided with a number of contact elements (13c), said number corresponding to the number of conductor rails (13a). The current collectors (13b) and the contact elements (13c) are arranged in such a way that each contact element (13c) glides over an allocated conductor rail (13a) for collecting the current.
